Raquel Parra is currently a partner and general director of CAPTOPLASTIC S.L, a knowledge-based company that has technology capable of controlling and quantifying microplastics in any aqueous medium. Raquel has held the position of general director since the beginning of the company's activity on July 1, 2020. During this time she has managed to raise the TRL of the technology from 3 to 9. Currently, the microplastic capture line is being carried out the implementation of the large-scale technology in a real environment has been carried out and in the microplastic control line there is already an MVP, a semi-automatic equipment that allows the quantification of this contaminant. During these little more than 3 years of life of the company, its positioning has been achieved with recognitions such as being winners of the eAwards Spain 2021 of the Everis foundation competing with more than 500 projects and winners of the Global eWards 2021 of the NTT Data Foundation competing with those of 1600 projects. Public funding has also been obtained for a NEOTEC project granted in 2022 or a Seal of Excellence project from the Community of Madrid, obtained thanks to having achieved the European Seal of Excellence for a high-impact project in the EIC Accelerator process of the European Commission . Regarding private financing, the company has carried out a first round of expansion led by Raquel, completed in 2022 and is preparing for a second at the end of 2024. Raquel has more than 15 years of experience in the business and commercial development departments of companies in the engineering sector such as Técnicas Reunidas, Duro Felguera or Grupo Hamon. Specialized in the search for opportunities, collaborators and subcontractors, negotiation of contracts and confidentiality agreements and preparation of offers at the national and international level. Regarding academic training, she has a Master of Business Administration from the EAE Business School, she is also an industrial technical engineer, specializing in industrial chemistry and the environment at the University School of Industrial Technical Engineers of the Polytechnic University of Madrid and Engineering. industrial degree from the Higher School of Industrial Engineers of the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
